Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I know my last post was VERY negative. It happens. There are any number of reasons why I’ve been down lately. However, today I want to (briefly) post some things I’m thankful for, because it’s the perfect day to do that.

I’m thankful for…
–parents who love me
–a brother who loves me
–a brother who’s figuring himself out and is trying to get himself together
–friends who are wonderful
–that I live in a country that allows me many, MANY personal freedoms (such as blogging)
–that today I got to eat more than I needed to, while many others may not have eaten at all
–that I have the option of going to several different grocery stores to get the food I ate too much of today
–that I have a job that pays me enough to make the rent (it’s my over-spending on other stuff that leaves me short on dough — I saw Barbara Ehrenreich at NCTE last week. WOW)
–that I have a job that, for the most part, I love
–that I have a job where I really like my coworkers
–that I have a job
–that I have a job that allows me to make a difference
–that there is a part of me that remains optimistic (be it ever so small) about the state of my love life
–that I’ve had a love life
–that my friends are not only wonderful, but supportive and fantastic when I’m feeling down or having a pity party
–that I’m healthy and smart, both of which enable me to type this drawn out blog post
and finally
–that I’m alive and I woke up today.

What are you thankful for? I’m sure I forgot some stuff. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Hopefully we’ll all go back to school Monday refreshed and ready to teach for ~3 weeks before we have another break.
